Glossary
Compliance
aka regulatory compliance
In the hemp/THCA context, compliance refers to a brand's adherence to applicable federal (Farm Bill, USDA Final Rule) and state regulations on Delta-9 THC thresholds, total THC testing, age verification, packaging, and shipping restrictions. A 'compliance-first' brand publishes COAs, restricts shipping to legal states, and adapts quickly to legislative shifts. Compliance is increasingly the dividing line between brands that survive state-level crackdowns and those that get pulled.
Example: Hometown Hero's compliance posture is why they survive every Texas regulatory cycle.
Etymology: Standard regulatory English; gained category-specific weight in hemp post-2018 Farm Bill.
