Linalool

Linalool is a floral, lavender-scented terpene present at low to moderate levels in many cannabis cultivars. It is the same compound that gives lavender its calming smell and is associated with anxiolytic and sedative effects in preclinical research. Linalool-rich strains often feel softer and more relaxing on the comedown.

Example: The linalool note here gives it that lavender-on-the-exhale finish.

Etymology: From the Linaloe tree (Bursera linaloe), an early commercial source of the compound.
