Decarb
aka decarboxylation
Decarb is the colloquial shortening of decarboxylation — the heat-driven process that converts THCA to THC. Hemp THCA flower is legal because it is sold pre-decarboxylation (raw THCA is not THC). The conversion happens when the consumer applies heat through smoking, vaping, or cooking.
Example: You have to decarb the flower before infusing it into butter.
Etymology: Industry shorthand.
